Stavros is located right on the tip of the peninsula of Akrotiri in a beautiful bay at a distance of 14 kms north-west of Chania. Stavros is well-known for its beautiful sandy beaches and the clean, blue sea waters. It is also known for the fact that the film Zorba the Greek was filmed there.

In Stavros you can find numerous restaurants, taverns and cafe's on the waterfront as well as mini-markets and snack bars. As far as accommodation is concerned there are plenty of small apartments, studios and some small hotels.

Stavros is not far away from the international airport of Chania and the port of Souda. There is frequent bus connection from the center of Chania.
