Traditional Villas Samonas

Samonas is a small village in the area of Apokoronas, 25 km east of Chania. Samonas is located at an altitude of 400m that preserves its traditional architecture and picturesque character, with panoramic views to the White Mountains and the sea of Crete.

The nearest beach to Samonas is in the village of Kalives (12 km north), while you may also visit the beach of Almirida (14 km) and Georgioupolis (30 km), all clean and awarded with the blue flags.

From Samonas you may visit Stylos springs, walk along the river Kiliaris, Xydias or Almiros, marvel the birds habitat of Georgioupolis and the unique Kournas Lake found in west Crete. If you prefer hiking, there are also many trails to follow in the wider area of Apokoronas, where Samonas is located.
