Greek Easter, Celebration of the Resurrection in Agios Nikolaos

The celebration of the Resurrection in Agios Nikolaos is the most spectacular in Crete. People gather around the lake around 11 pm and the Resurrection mass begins 30 minutes later.

At midnight the priests annouce the Resurrection of Christ, the doll of Judas starts burning in the middle of the lake and an impressive fireworks show begins.
