The Roman Baths in Ancient Gortys
The Roman baths are on our right, behind a wire fence. We can only see a small part of the baths, as they have not been fully excavated.
The Roman baths or Thermae were a large bathhouse complex with many secondary areas, exercise rooms and Vespasianae (public latrines). The baths are made up of three rooms:
- the calidarium (hot bath)
- the tepidarium (warm room)
- the frigidarium (cold bath)
