Historical-Folk Museum in Rethymnon
The Historical – Folk Museum of Rethymnon in Vernardou Street was founded in 1973 by Christophoros Stavroulakis and Fani Voyiatzaki, who donated the museum building.
The building itself is one of the most representative examples of a town house dating from the end of the Venetian occupation (c. 17th century).
The Historical – Folk Museum of Rethymnon houses collections of woven fabrics, weaving equipment, embroidery, lacework, pottery, baskets, metalwork, coins, costumes, historical items, etc.
There is also a room with an exhibition on traditional crops and bread-making.
